FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Sept. 17, 2024 – After securing a podium in every race of the 2024 IMPC season so far, Hyundai Motor America (HMA) has emerged as the front-runner in the Manufacturers’ Championship with a 60-point lead over its nearest competitor. HMA and its teams will take on the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) for the penultimate round of the 2024 IMPC season with the goal of continuing their string of strong performances to secure a sixth-consecutive TCR Manufacturers’ Championship.
Heading into the Indianapolis Motor Speedway 120, Hyundai drivers also hold three of the top-four places in the Drivers’ Championship, with the No. 33 Hyundai Elantra N TCR co-drivers Harry Gottsacker and Robert Wickens leading the way in second place. Co-drivers Preston Brown and Denis Dupont sit close behind in third in the No. 76 car, with the No. 98 car co-drivers Mason Filippi and Mark Wilkins in fourth. The Drivers’ Championship remains in contention with just two rounds to go as Hyundai drivers look to cut into the points deficit before the final round at Road Atlanta in October.
The ninth round of the IMPC schedule will take place Sat., Sept. 21, with the green flag set to fly at 1:05 p.m. EDT for the two-hour race.
