FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Aug. 21, 2024 – With an impressive podium streak spanning the first seven races of the 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (IMPC) season, Hyundai Motor America (HMA) will look to extend their lead in the TCR Manufacturers’ Championship standings as they take on the scenic twists and turns of Virginia International Raceway this weekend.

In addition to maintaining the lead in the Manufacturers’ Championship, Hyundai also holds three of the top four spots in the IMPC Drivers’ Championship thanks to Bryan Herta Autosport (BHA). The No. 76 BHA Hyundai Elantra N TCR driven by Preston Brown and Denis Dupont is leading the way for the manufacturer in second place, just 220 points out of the lead. The BHA No. 33 and No. 98 entries currently sit in third and fourth, respectively, with all three cars remaining in contention for the Drivers’ Championship.

The eighth round of the IMPC schedule will take place Sat., Aug. 24, with the green flag set to fly at 2:15 p.m. EDT for the two-hour race.

  • Virginia International Raceway: 3.270-mile, 17-turn road circuit
  • Championship Standings: Second place for the No. 76 Elantra N TCR drivers Preston Brown and Denis Dupont

Both the No. 33 and No. 98 cars captured podium finishes in the 2023 running at VIR with Harry Gottsacker and Robert Wickens taking second in their charge to a Drivers’ Championship in 2023.
