FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., July 30, 2024 – After securing their second win of the 2024 IMPC season, Hyundai Motor America (HMA) will look to capture the championship lead at Road America. Hyundai sits just 20 points behind its nearest rival in the series’ championship standings with four rounds remaining in the 2024 campaign. Entering the seventh round of the season in Wisconsin with the smallest points gap since January, a win at Road America would propel Hyundai to the top spot in the Manufacturer’s Championship.

Hyundai’s Elantra N TCR has shown strong pace all season long, with the automaker continuing its streak of securing podium finishes at every race this year. Last race, Robert Wickens and Harry Gottsacker continued that trend in the No. 33 car alongside the No. 76 entry of Preston Brown and Denis Dupont at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The two-driver teams secured first and third, respectively. Wickens and Gottsacker’s impressive performance at the Canadian track was instrumental in securing Hyundai’s strong championship position for the closing stages of the season.

The seventh round of the IMPC schedule will take place Sat., August 3, with the green flag set to fly at 2:45 p.m. EDT for the two-hour race.

  • Road America: 4.048-mile, 15-turn road circuit
  • Championship Standings: Second place for the No. 76 Elantra N TCR drivers Preston Brown and Denis Dupont

Previous Performance at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP)
Despite the strength Hyundai has shown across a variety of tracks, Road America has proven to be a challenging course for the manufacturer in the past. Despite this, Hyundai drivers Robert Wickens and Harry Gottsacker secured podiums at Hyundai’s last two races at Road America. However, a win at the circuit has remained elusive since Mark Wilkins and Mason Filippi secured a victory at the historic venue in 2019.

Hyundai Hope On Wheels
In 2024, Hyundai Hope On Wheels has pledged to donate $100 for every lap a Hyundai Elantra N TCR leads during every race of the 2024 IMSA IMPC season. Through the first six events of this year’s campaign, Hyundai Hope On Wheels has raised over $15,000 to fight childhood cancer.
